Types of building stones
There are different types of building stones that you may not have even heard of, such as basalt, quartzite marble, travertine, sandstone, gneiss, and granite. These stones are used as building materials.

Stones are generally extracted from hard rock mines for construction purposes. Stones used as building materials must be strong, durable, resistant to destructive factors (such as rain, sun, fog, etc.), and possess high strength and ideal resistance.

Fragile, cracked and weak rocks will have absolutely no constructive use. Depending on its hardness and resistance, rocks will have different uses.

For example, harder rocks such as basalt and granite, due to their high strength and hardness, are more commonly used for major construction tasks - such as flooring, stairs, etc. - and lighter, less resistant rocks such as gneiss are used for decoration.

Another type of building stone is marble. Marble is a type of metamorphic rock. The basis of marble is limestone that is transformed into marble by pressure, heat and increasing its resistance.

The gravity of marble is about 2.72. Marble is mainly composed of calcite or dolomite crystals. This stone has been used as a building stone for centuries and has many uses.

Marble is mostly used in bathrooms and jacuzzis as wall and floor tiles, pools and bathroom floor trays.

It is also used for other applications such as fireplaces, stairs, decorative table tops, and sometimes for building facades.
